PISÉO joins WIKIGIGA

Company Presentation – PISEO

My name is Joël Tomé, CEO of PISEO, an innovation centre specialising in photonic optics. We support companies in the development of systems that integrate optical and photonic functions. PISEO was originally established as a testing laboratory for optical systems, and remains partially accredited by COFRAC for photometry and photobiological risk testing.

Engineering and Technical Services

Beyond testing, PISEO offers a full optical engineering service, covering all types of systems that either emit or detect optical radiation across the ultraviolet, visible, and infrared spectrums. We are also developing a new offering that supports industrialisation, prototyping, and manufacturing of systems integrating components such as imaging sensors, aimed particularly at the medical and defence sectors.

From Innovation to Manufacturing

PISEO is involved from concept to production, helping clients move from idea to finished product. While we handle the optical design and studies in-house, we work with trusted partners for the development of electronics, software, mechanics, and assembly. This collaborative approach allows us to mobilise an entire industrial ecosystem to bring advanced scientific products to market.

As an innovation centre, PISEO maintains a strong position in photonics-based innovation and is actively involved in advancing both fundamental applications and commercial solutions.

Application-Driven Philosophy

Our distinctive approach is to always start with the application, focusing on understanding the interaction between light and matter—whether that matter is organic, as in medical use cases, or inorganic, such as conductive materials or lighting.

From these use cases, we imagine concepts, identify the right optical and photonic components, and integrate them into proofs of concept, prototypes, and eventually serialised products. This end-to-end innovation process is at the core of our value proposition.

Why Attend Med’innov

PISEO has been attending Medinov for several years, as the event aligns perfectly with our strategic focus on the medical sector. This market is growing rapidly, and as a centre specialising in photonic systems, it is essential for us to be present.

Platforms like WIKIGIGA are of strong interest to us because they enhance visibility and connect us with other industrial players—especially those offering electronic, optical, or photonic components that we may integrate into our product development or testing systems
