Spotlight on AXIMUM – new WIKIGIGA member

Company Overview

In a few words: Aximum is a well-known name.
If you’ve ever driven through a junction, you’ve probably seen a traffic light made by Aximum.

We are part of the Colas Group:

  • Colas builds the roads
  • Aximum secures them

That’s our core business.

Production Capacity

Our electronics subcontracting operations are based in Tourcoing, in northern France.

We employ around 100 people and operate a high-performance industrial toolset, including a state-of-the-art SMT line, upgraded in 2024.

💡 Production capacity: up to 100,000 components/hour

The site dates back to 1962, originally stemming from the textile industry’s diversification.

Expertise and Know-how

At Aximum, we specialise in outdoor electronics designed for harsh environments.

Traffic lights face:

  • Humidity
  • Temperature fluctuations
  • Salty air

That’s why we protect our PCBs using specialised techniques.
On our stand, we’re showcasing LED boards fully submerged in water, yet still fully operational.

Value Proposition

We offer several protection methods for electronic assemblies:

  • Conformal coating
  • Silicone encapsulation
  • Potting/resin coating

Our clients operating in demanding environments highly value these robust solutions.

Markets and Products

We mainly target industrial sectors for subcontracted production, with key areas including:

  • LED placement
    (displays, lighting)
  • IoT devices
  • Automation systems
  • Access control

We specialise in small to medium production runs.

Why Global Industrie?

We have a top-level production line for PCB manufacturing.
It’s used for our own products, but we also make it available to other industry players through contract manufacturing.

That’s why Aximum is attending Global Industrie: To offer our expertise and capabilities to the electronics sector.
